Dr. Dijkstra

Dr. Dijkstra (1930-2002) is one of the most accomplished computer scientists in the (admittedly brief) history of computer scientists. His numerous contributions include work in OS design, algorithm theory, and the concept of semaphores. He was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and taught at the University of Texas for 15 years. He is probably not happy with the large number of GOTO statements in the Linux kernel, however.
