The main uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in our computer room has finally rest in peace after serving our department for nine years. Part of its transformer coils were burnt and generated smoke and irritating smell to a number of floors of Chow Yei Ching Building. Fortunately, we have contacted the Fire Services Department in time, and the burnt coils did not caused a fire. Our computer room has escaped from a disaster.
